The Pole picked up an injury during the Viola’s 2-1 home defeat against Basel in the Europa League on Thursday and as a result he will miss the club’s match against the Biancorossi at the Stadio Alberto Braglia.
“I will not play on Sunday and I hope it’s the only game I miss,” Blaszczykowski posted on his Facebook page.
“I fell badly after a collision with a Basel player on Thursday: my shoulder hurts and I lost consciousness for some time.
“The doctors told me I need some days of rest and to look after myself.
“But I want to be ready to play on Wednesday.”
The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund will aim to return for next Wednesday’s fixture against Bologna at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
