Thiago Silva Ibrahimovic Paris Saint-GermainThiago Silva thinks the summer transfer activity at Roma could finally see them wrestle the Scudetto away from Juventus.

According to the former AC Milan defender the Bianconeri will struggle in the absence of key trio Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal whilst he also believes Paul Pogba is still too inexperienced to dominate in the same way, despite being highly sought-after by Europe’s leading clubs.

“Roma have reinforced their central areas the best,” Silva told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“[Edin] Dzeko is the type of player that was missing from Garcia’s team who have a true identity and a great player in [Seydou] Keita.

“We must then see how well their rivals integrate their new signings.

“Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal were the heart of the [Juventus] team.

“That is hard to replace and Pogba is still too young to do the same.”

With Paris Saint-Germain dominating domestically in France, the Brazilian admitted that they are focusing on Champions League glory this season.

“We want to win Ligue 1 as soon as possible to better manage our resources and focus on our main objective which is the Champions League,” admitted the 30-year-old.

“For every position we have at least two players, none are poor and the substitutes are strong, only players of the highest level.

“[Angel] Di Maria is a player of great class, and will make a difference in an attack that is already very strong.”
