Former Inter hero Diego Milito has revealed that he once turned down an offer from English Premier League side Chelsea.

The 36-year-old was on the books of the Nerazzurri for a total of five years, where he was an integral part of the club’s treble-winning 2009-10 season, a campaign which culminated with the Argentine netting a Champions League brace against Bayern Munich in the final.

“A chance for Chelsea popped up and I said no to them,” disclosed Milito to Ole.

The striker instead opted for Serie A’s Genoa, a stepping stone in his career which allowed him to eventually move to Inter.

In addition to his dismissal of Chelsea’s proposition, Milito also told that he rejected a transfer to Inter prior to his eventual arrival.

“Once I had the opportunity to go to Inter and I felt that it was not the right time.”
