While the home side are dreaming of an upset, and in the process collecting their first points in their Serie A history, the capital club will be confident of consolidating their Scudetto credentials and keep up with the early pacesetters.

Frosinone have started the season with two losses in as many games, against Torino and Atalanta. Yet in those games they have shown spirit and a willingness to compete, which will have encouraged coach Roberto Stellone ahead of their toughest task yet.

Roma meanwhile bounced back from a sombre 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona in the opening match, to convincingly beating reigning champions Juventus 2-1 a week later at the Stadio Olimpico, showing that they are ready to compete for the title this season.

Historically, this will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, given this is the Canarini’s first ever season in the top flight, and the home side will be hoping to make it a memorable one.

Stellone is expected to keep the faith in the same line-up that contested the first two games. Aleksandar Tonev could make his first appearances off the bench after moving from Aston Villa, while fellow new signing Nicolas Castillo is still not deemed fit enough to even make the substitute list.

Despite facing Barcelona in their opening Champions League match on Wednesday, coach Rudi Garcia is still expected to name his strongest line-up against the minnows.

Roma will have to do without midfield maestro Miralem Pjanic for two weeks, after the Bosnian international was injured on international duty during the week, but new signing Antonio Rudiger is in line for his debut alongside Kostas Manolas, as Daniele De Rossi shifts back into his usual midfield role.

Edin Dzeko is expected to get the nod over the captain Francesco Totti once again, while Iago Falque should retain his spot ahead of Gervinho after his impressive outing against Juventus just before the international break.
