Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has revealed Champions League qualification is the club’s main focus this season.
The 29-year-old Colombia international grabbed the headlines over the weekend in Serie A after scoring the only goal during the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 victory over city rivals AC Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday evening.
“I think it will be a very competitive championship, because all our rivals have made big purchases in the transfer market,” Guarin told Futbol Red.
“We want to be leaders and stand tall at the top of the table. Our main objective is to return to the Champions League. We have to grow in every game.”
Guarin has played 90 minutes in both of Inter’s most recent league fixtures as he nurses his way back to full fitness following an injury in pre-season.
