Derby County winger Tom Ince has revealed why he turned down Inter in favour of a move to Hull last year.
The then-Blackpool wideman was in the process of finding an new club having seen his contract with the Seasiders run out, but despite there hardly being a sea of clubs interested in his home country, the Englishman still rejected a move to Italian giants Inter.
“I went to the San Siro, where there was plenty of history with my dad, and it brought back old memories,” said Ince to Sky Sports.
Ince’s father, Manchester United legend Paul, turned out in Nerazzurri colours between 1995 and 1997, but failed to win a trophy at the club.
“I spoke to the hierarchy at Inter, and the way they were talking it was as if they weren’t trying to challenge at the top again,” he continued.
“Being a young lad, I didn’t want any of that, I wanted to get in the Premier League.”
