Samir Handanovic InterThe agent of Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, Federico Pastorello, has revealed that his client is close to signing a new contract with his club.

The shot stopper was signed by the Nerazzurri in 2012 from Udinese and has since gone on to become a key player for the Italian giants.

“The intention of the player and the club is to continue together,” said the player’s agent to SportNotizie.it.

“We are all working for the renewal, and I believe that Samir will sign a new deal.”

The goalkeeper has been tracked by some of Europe’s biggest clubs over the years, including Manchester United and Barcelona. However, Pastorello has insisted that the player will renew with Inter as they’re down to the final details.

“There are still some details,” Pastorello continued.

“There’s a 99% chance he will extend his contract with the Nerazzurri, where he’ll remain with them for many years.”

Handanovic’s current deal expires next summer, so Inter will have to act swiftly to ensure the Slovenian doesn’t join another club on a free transfer.
