Inter defender Martin Montoya could potentially already be on his way back to Barcelona after sporting director Piero Ausillo made plans to visit the Spanish side this Tuesday.

The 24-year-old only joined the Italian club in the summer transfer window, but has yet to make a single first team appearance this season and a possible return has now been rumoured.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have since confirmed these reports and stated that Ausillo will meet with Barcelona representatives after their Champions League fixture against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Spanish international joined the Milanese outfit initially on-loan in July , with an opportunity to make the deal permanent, however Montoya has failed to break into coach Roberto Mancini’s starting eleven and now could be set for the exit door at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
