Italy coach Antonio Conte is set to make a change to the team’s tactics.

The Azzurri are currently second in their qualifying group for Euro 2016 behind Croatia and are set to face Malta and Bulgaria over the international break as they look to claim top spot in Group H.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the former Juventus coach has been trialling a 4-3-3 formation in training with Gianluigi Buffon in goal behind a defence of Matteo Darmian, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Manuel Pasqual.

The midfield will include a double pivot of Marco Veratti and Andrea Pirlo with Andrea Bertolacci in a slightly more advanced role.

Finally, the front three is likely to include Graziano Pelle in the centre-forward role alongside Eder and one of Antonio Candreva or Franco Vasquez.

Conte has previously been more fond of a 3-5-2 formation which he used to great success during his time with The Old Lady.
