Roma’s Juan Iturbe has spoken out about his side’s improved chances this year, in particular how they have managed to catch up and even surpass primary rivals Juventus.

The Argentine joined Roma last summer from Hellas Verona and has featured in 28 matches so far in his career in the capital, scoring two goals and setting up another.

He told Sky Sport Italia that he believes Roma stand to perform better this season, thanks in no small part to their summer transfer market dealings.

“Our goal is always to beat Juventus, who remains the team to beat,” Iturbe began.

“Winning [2-1] at home against Juventus was important, we played a good game in Rome.

“This year they’ve got good players, but we are stronger.

“[Edin] Dzeko and [Mohamed] Salah played for great teams and I am sure they will do very well in Rome.”
