Inter’s Stevan Jovetic has admitted that he was impressed by the atmosphere for the Derby della Madonnina and that the Nerazzurri deserved the win.

Roberto Mancini’s side made it three wins from three as they saw off their city rivals AC Milan 1-0 on Sunday night and Jovetic was impressed with the fans’ performance at the Stadio Meazza.

“I’d played at San Siro lots of times before with Fiorentina but I’d never seen it this full,” he told reporters post-match.

“I’ve played in Manchester derbies but they weren’t like this.

“We won today and got the three points and that’s all that matters. Both sides had chances but I think we deserved it in the end.”

The Montenegrin forward also revealed that he is refusing to get carried away after Inter’s unbeaten start to the season.

“We have an excellent team and we’ve got off to a cracking start but we’re only three games in.

“We need to keep going one match at a time. We must focus on Chievo now.

“We’re aiming for the top three but we’ll see where we are in March and if we can maybe aim a bit higher,” Jovetic concluded.
