Mario Gotze BayernBayern Munich star Mario Goetze is still a target for Juventus but the Bianconeri will have to fend off competition from Barcelona to secure the German’s signature.

Juve were strongly linked with the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window but the attacking midfielder’s wage demands were rumoured to be the major obstacle.

According to Caught Offside, director general Giuseppe Marotta could launch a new bid for the Germany international in January, but interest from Barcelona is likely to see Goetze’s price-tag soar.

However the Old Lady are becoming increasingly desperate to find a natural play-maker after a difficult start to the season and may be willing to match the European Champions’ offer.

Goetze has struggled to find his best from since joining the Bundesliga champions in 2013 and the player’s fractious relationship with Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is rumoured to be forcing the player out of the Allianz Arena.
