Bayern Munich central defender Mehdi Benatia has been earmarked as a future target for reigning Serie A champions Juventus.
The former Roma stopper has just begun his second campaign with the Bundesliga giants, having signed a five-year contract in August 2014.
According to Tuttosport, the two clubs discussed the possibility of a deal for the Moroccan international during negotiations over the recent transfer of Juventus forward Kingsley Coman to Bayern.
An agreement for Benatia is on hold after the transfer window closed at the end of August, but talks could be resumed once the current season comes to a conclusion in May 2016.
He made 15 league appearances for the Bavarians last term, while also featuring seven times in Champions League action.
The 28-year-old suffered an injury against Hoffenheim on August 22, which could see the ex-Udinese star endure an extended lay-off.
