Europa League campaign.

The game will be played behind closed doors because fans of the Ukrainian club invaded the pitch during their Europa League semi-final clash with Napoli last season.

“We want to do better, we have the desire and ability to be an important team,” Pioli told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

“We meet an opponent which is in great condition both physically and technically, as they are in the middle of their season. We feel good and we want to play the game openly.”

The 49-year-old admitted the Champions League was where the club wanted to be but they will now turn their attention to making the knock-out stages of Europe’s secondary competition.

“It’s[the Europa League] still an important competition, we hit the stated goal last season. The Champions League was a dream, you have to think about the present and the future. This is an important competition and a complicated group, we will have to start off on the right foot.

“We want to qualify from the group, all the teams are strong. We expect a complicated game, we want to win.”
