Lazio are willing to offer a new contract to Danilo Cataldi, whose current deal expires in 2017.

The 21-year-old, who came from the Biancocelesti youth system, was reportedly the subject of a €15 million bid from Napoli in the previous transfer window but the Roman club are keen to keep hold of Cataldi.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Stefano Pioli’s side will meet with Cataldi’s representatives after their first Europa League group stage match to start negotiations for a new contract.

Cataldi is not the only player whose contact expires in the next couple of years as the club also have to tie down new captain Lucas Biglia, Federico Marchetti and Senad Lulic.

Cataldi made 21 apperances for Lazio last year after spending the previous season as a first team starter at Crotone.
