Juventus will test Manchester City in their Champions League match at the Etihad stadium on Tuesday.

The Chilean says he expects the Bianconeri to put their poor league form behind them and has stressed that the Champions League represents a different tournament altogether.

“Juventus haven’t started well in Serie A, but this is another competition,” Pellegrini told his press-conference.

“They will be motivated.

“I am hoping that we cannot only qualify from the group, but I want us to finish top in order to avoid the most dangerous sides in the round of sixteen.”

The Premier League runners-up have some injury worries ahead of the match after Argentine striker Sergio Aguero failed to finish Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace due to injury.

“Sergio Aguero won’t be available for the game because of a knee injury,” said Pellegrini.

“David Silva and Raheem Sterling should make it.

“In terms of the attack we know that both [Wilfred] Bony and Sterling can play several positions.

“I believe in this team, but we are coming up against a very strong Juventus side who reached the final of this competition last season.”

The two sides go into the clash with wildly different league form with Manchester City sitting top of the Premier League after taking maximum points from their five opening games and have yet to concede a goal, whilst Juventus approach the trip to England having taken just one point from their opening three Serie A fixtures this season.
