Atalanta forward Maximiliano Moralez has explained that playing in Serie A and his family were the reason he decided not to leave La Dea in the summer.
The Argentinian was close to a move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, but he pulled out of negotiations before the deal was finalised.
“I was a step away from leaving but the extra-footballing reasons prevailed,” said Moralez to Corriere di Bergamo.
“Family is more important than money and I decided with my partner who had doubts about the move.
“Here we have always been good, and moving would have been a leap into the unknown.”
The former Velez Sarsfield player was also asked about his hopes for this season.
“My dream for this season? secure safety and then push to play in a European competition. ”
