Torino 1-0 at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Wednesday in Serie A.

Lucas Castro scored the only goal of the game midway through the second-half as Chievo draw level with Granata on 1o points in Serie A this season.

Chievo

Albano Bizzarri – 6.5 – Solid

He did not concede, making Castro’s goal enough to win.

Nicholas Frey – 6 – Safe

Controls Molinaro on his side and risks very little.

Dario Dainelli – 6.5 – Experienced

It wasn’t easy to control Fabio Quagliarella after the two goals on Sunday. Easy job for Dainelli.

Bostjan Cesar – 6 – Friend

Helps out Dainelli throughout the game.

Fabrizio Cacciatore – 6 – Controlling

Did well to control the match throughout.

Giampiero Pinzi – 5.5 – Runner

Plays as usual, running to help all the midfield. Gets an ugly booking though.

Perparim Hetemaj – 6.5 – Creative

Continues the good start to the season: creates chances and controls his area.

Lucas Castro – 7.5 – Winner

Scored a great goal to earn Chievo the three points.

Valter Birsa – 5.5 – Down

You’d expect more from his quality. Not a terrible game, but lacks the final pass.

Alberto Paloschi – 6 – Fighter

Fights up front for 90 minutes being a constant hassle for the Toro defence.

Sergio Pellissier – 6 – Captain

Does what he can while he’s on the pitch. Substituted at the right time for the right person

Substitutes:

Riccardo Meggiorini – 7 – Spectacular

The usual Meggiorini: lovely to watch and useful to Chievo’s game. Helps the team in the final minutes and shows his skills with a bicycle kick. And the assist for Castro.

Nicola Rigoni – N/A

Massimo Gobbi – 5.5 – Decent

Did his job well enough but will be frustrated to have picked up a yellow card.

Torino

Daniele Padelli – 5.5 – Unlucky

Didn’t make any mistakes and was unfortunate to concede.

Cesare Bovo – 6 – Energetic

One of the last Granata to give up. Tries his best even up front.

Kamil Glik – 5 – Average

Simply not the usual solid defender and threat in attack.

Emiliano Moretti – 5.5 – Mainstream

Like the rest of the defence, could have done better.

Bruno Peres – 4.5 – Mediocre

A different player to the one everyone knows. As if he wasn’t on the pitch.

Afriye Acquah – 5 – Poor

With the other Torino midfielders, gets overwhelmed by Chievo. Yellow card for him.

Giuseppe Vives – 5 – Struggled

Cannot keep up with the opposition midfield, struggles to keep his team mates together.

Daniele Baselli – 5 – Bystander

With such high expectations he did not do enough to influence proceedings and will be frustrated with his performance.

Cristian Molinaro – 5 – Overwhelmed

Suffers a lot on his side, struggled to leave an impression.

Josef Martinez – 5 – Down

Runs a lot, as always. But struggles, as always, to be decisive in a game.

Fabio Quagliarella – 5.5 – Tired

After two goals on Sunday and great form lately, simply not in condition to impact on this game. Never manages to do his job.

Substitutes:

Marco Benassi – N/A

Davide Zappacosta – 6 – Limited

Better than Bruno Peres, not enough time to influence the game.

Andrea Belotti – 5.5 – Young

Didn’t have enough to influence the match.
