The Giallorossi lost to Sampdoria in mid week after only drawing against Sassuolo last weekend but Garcia believes his side have been playing well.

“We only care about winning,” Garcia told reporters at his press conference ahead of the match against Carpi.

“A week ago we were doing well in Serie A , so it is not as bad as it seems.

“We played better against Sampdoria than when we’ve been winning, and worse against Frosinone than when we’ve lost. Thats football.

“In the long-run, if you play well you will win more matches.

“It is only the beginning of the season, but at the same time the last two results haven’t been good.

“We have to look ahead and be focused on what happens on the pitch. That’s all that matters, the rest is not important.”

Garcia then went onto to talk about injuries, particularly defender Leandro Castan.

“Leo is improving. It is normal that it would take longer for a player, who was out for a year, to get over an injury,” Garcia added.

“We’re not hiding anything, he’s fine, he has a great desire to return to the pitch. When he’s at 100 per cent, he’ll be in contention, right now he’s not.

“[William] Vainqueur, is improving and soon he will be able to help us.

“We will make a decision closer to the game whether [Alessandro] Florenzi will play or be rested.”
