Radja Nainggolan has expressed a heartfelt apology to Rafinha on Twitter after injuring the player during Roma’s Champions League clash against Barcelona.
Rafinha is set to face six months on the sidelines after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee following the Belgian’s tackle, although Nainggolan has since stressed that he did not have the slightest intention of hurting Rafinha and that it was purely an accident.
“Hello Rafinha, I’m sorry for the bad news, I did not mean to hurt you.” the midfielder wrote on his official Twitter account.
“I hope to see you on the pitch again soon. A big hug.” he added.
Nainggolan signed a permanent deal with the Giallorossi in the 2015 off-season for €9 million and has featured a total of 69 times for them, scoring seven goals.
Hola @rafinha, lo siento mucho por la mala noticia, no fue mi intención hacerte daño. Espero verte pronto en el campo, un fuerte abrazo!
