Juan Iturbe has made a formal apology via his Twitter account to his Roma teammates and fans after leaving the Stadio Olimpico pitch visibly angry at his 50th minute substitution in the 2-2 draw with Sassuolo on Sunday.

The Giallorossi made a bright start to the match but needed to come from behind twice in the order to level the scores and save a point against an impressive Neroverdi side.

Iturbe took to social media following the match to apologize for moping off the field and kicking the team’s water cooler in anger as he was replaced by Iago Falque.

“I have a lot of respect for my teammates,” he wrote on the social media network.

“I just want to apologize to them. Similarly I apologize to the fans for my bad behavior. Thanks. Forza Roma.”

The 22-year-old got his first start of the campaign against Sassuolo, but was unable to follow up on his first goal scored against Frosinone in the Giallorossi’s previous Serie A encounter.
