Bologna’s coach Delio Rossi said that the 1-0 Serie A win against Frosinone on Sunday was of crucial importance to his team.

The Rossoblu picked up their first points of the season through a first-half goal by Anthony Mounier.

“It was very important to win today, especially because in the previous matches we did not get any points despite playing well,” Rossi toldĀ Radio Rai.

Although they were the more active team by far before the break, in the second half Bologna pulled back, allowing Frosinone to possess for longer stints and create opportunities in front of Antonio Mirante’s goal.

“There was not a physical problem, perhaps in the second half there was some nervous tension,” the 54-year-old specialist said.

One Bologna player who did not make the best of his chances in the first half was Mattia Destro and the former Roma forward was eventually replaced in the second half.

“He added value to our squad,” Rossi said of the Italian international.

“We must help him return to his best form.

“He is an intelligent guy and we are waiting for him to find his best condition.”
