New Roma defender Antonio Rudiger has revealed that he’s confident in the capital city club’s ability to have a great season following their satisfying 1-1 Champions League draw with Barcelona on Wednesday.
The Giallorossi surprisingly managed earn a point against the reigning tournament champions at the Stadio Olimpico following Alessandro Florenzi’s amazing rocket goal from the halfway line and the 22-year-old admits that he’s been aware of the Italian side’s quality since before his arrival from Stuttgart over the summer.
Rudiger spoke to Sky Sport Italia 24 about Roma’s positive result against Barcelona and expressed his faith in the Lupi’s chances of finding success this season.
“Florenzi scored an amazing goal, it was a perfect shot,” said the Germany international. “I watched the ball fly the whole way until it reached the goal.
“I think Roma are a great team. I was always convinced that we would do well and I know that we will do well throughout the season.”
