Atalanta coach seeks response after frustrating Fiorentina loss

Carpi to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia for Sunday’s return to Serie A action.

Prior to the international break, La Dea suffered a difficult 3-0 defeat away to league leaders Fiorentina after losing Gabriel Paletta to a straight red card in the opening minutes, and Reja is eager to get his side back on the right path.

“The defeat in Florence left a bitter taste,” the coach said in his pre-match press conference.

“We had to prepare for the match but in the best way, Carpi is coming off a victory, has changed the coach, and there’s motivation for this particular group.”

The coach gave additional insight into his tactical approach for the first ever meeting between to two clubs.

“It will have a physical and defensive nature,” he claimed.

“They have the means and quality, [Ryder] Matos and [Marco] Borriello will create some problems.”
