Burdisso - GenoaGenoa defender Nicolas Burdisso has praised his coach Gian Piero Gasperini ahead of the Grifone’s Serie A game against Empoli.

The Rossoblu have had an inconsistent start to the season, but they did manage to pick up a 3-2 win against Chievo on Sunday, a game in which they won in stoppage time due to a goal from Panagiotis Tachtsidis.

“The coach gives us a lot of confidence, he believes in his work.” said Burdisso at his pre-match press conference.

“In the past I have said that Gasperini reminds me of Mourinho, the amount of information that gives you before the game is a lot.

“Today he knows that all the players follow him, he is an underrated coach who offers a different kind of football and fun.

“Before the game against Chievo we always produced good performances. Now we have recovered all of our players but the three points against Chievo has made this week more enjoyable to train.”

The former Roma man then spoke about facing Empoli on Saturday. “Against Empoli we will not change our way of playing we will stay aggressive, we are growing and we have to continue like this. ”

“It was a very nice match against Chievo but the game of our turnaround was the win against Milan. We still have to get a win on Saturday, we have to win and we are working on this.”
