Bologna snatched a 2-1 win against ten man Carpi at the Stadio Alberto Braglia on Saturday evening, to move off the bottom of the table.

Gaetano Letizia scored a scrappy goal to put Carpi in front, who saw Lorenzo Lollo sent off but in the second half Daniele Gastaldello equalised and then in injury time Adam Masina snatched a winner for the away side.

In the opening exchanges it was the hosts who started off better and nearly scored inside three minutes but Ryder Matos fired wide from close range.

They could have been reduced to ten men though just moments later as Vid Belec took a swipe at Anthony Mounier but escaped with a yellow.

Carpi did take the lead in the 24th minute as Letizia slotted past Da Costa as the defence failed to clear the ball.

The home side did have a man sent off before half-time as Lorenzo Lollo went in dangerously for a 50/50 challenge and received his second yellow.

Just before half time the visitors had the first real chance as Mattia Destro met a low cross to shoot for the bottom corner but Belec pulled off a great save.

Two minutes into the second half, Bologna were level. Following a corner, the ball fell to Luca Rizzo whose shot hit the post and Gastaldello was on hand to fire in the rebound.

The away side nearly turned the game on its head just after the hour mark as Emanuele Giaccherini’s free kick was palmed away by Belec.

After constant pressure from the visitors they finally grabbed a winner in the third minute of injury time. Franco Brienza’s free-kick reached Masina at the back post who slid in to tap home and move Bologna up to 18th.
