Giuseppe Sannino ChievoCarpi coach Giuseppe Sannino has dedicated the club’s first Serie A win to former boss Fabrizio Castori, as his side defeated Torino 2-1.

An own goal from Daniele Padelli and Ryder Matos gave the hosts the lead, despite Maxi Lopez netting late on.

“I dedicate this victory to Fabrizio Castori, who contributed so much to get us here,” Sannino told Sky Sport Italia.

A change of coaching is always a difficult moment for any football club. He have made history, but life goes on.

“If we play like the team you saw tonight, then we can do well. We want to play an organised style of football.”

Carpi lost four Serie A games under Castori drawing the other two, despite scoring six goals in those games.

“Torino are a strong side, but these three points are fully deserved,” the former Watford coach continued.

“We are hoping for more positive results that can take us away from the foot of the table,” he concluded.

The newly-promoted side are now 16th in Serie A, but their position is likely to change by next week.
