Antonio Conte ItalyItaly national coach Antonio Conte has been summoned to court over match-fixing charges in a scandal known as Calcioscommesse.

The former Juventus coach will face a preliminary hearing along with 103 others after being accused of committing sports fraud.

Among him are former Lazio captains Stefano Mauri and Giuseppe Signori in addition to former Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni and current Udinese coach Stefano Colantuono, who all face similar charges.

Conte is under investigation for his involvement during his Siena sides’s 1-0 win at Albinoleffe in May 2011, though Siena’s 2-2 draw at Novara which was played in the same month has been dropped from the inquiry.

The hearing is set for February 18, and will be overseen by judge Pierpaolo Beluzzi.

Conte’s defending lawyer Leonardo Cammarata has spoken out regarding the situation, excluding the possibility of a plea bargain.
