Italy Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio has contributed to the praise of AC Milan goalkeeping youngster Gianluigi Donnarumma, saying that he has a splendid career ahead of him.
Donnarumma made history on the weekend by becoming Serie A’s youngest ever goalkeeper, helping AC Milan to a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in the process, and one of Italy’s youth experts has heaped additional praise on him.
“He is already part of the Italy Under-17 team but I believe he will very soon be able to climb the ranks,” said the Italian to FoxSports.
“It is predestined,” he evaluated.
“It wasn’t an easy debut at the San Siro, he is a very smart guy and has a splendid career ahead of him.”
The goalkeeper has turned out for the U17 side 10 times so far, starting in the 2015 European Championships for his youth group.
