Former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho has revealed that he turned down a move to Inter in 2012 and 2013.

Paulinho has since moved on to China to turn out for Guangzhou Evergrande after disappointing in England, being signed by his former Brazil coach Luis Felipe Scolari, and has now revealed the alternative path his career could have taken.

“I decided to not leave Corinthians after spending only a year-and-a-half there,” said Paulinho to Lance!, referring to a transfer window in 2012.

“At the end of the Brazilian season, I received offers from Inter and some Russian clubs, but chose to stay.”

The Brazil international did eventually move away from his home country, but not before Inter returned with another offer after he excelled in the Club World Cup tournament as his side claimed an unlikely trophy.

“It was in January 2013 when I received another proposal.”
