inter romaRoma coach Rudi Garcia says his team’s loss was undeserved after his side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to Inter.

Gary Medel struck the only goal of the game with a sweet hit and the misery was made complete when star man Miralem Pjanic saw red for a deliberate handball.

“It is an undeserved defeat,” Garcia told Premium Sport.

“The numbers will say we didn’t have a good game but we did.

“We lacked real bite when it came to finishing in front of goal

“If we continue to play like that, we’ll win a lot of games.”

Samir Handanovic pulled off a number of saves to deny the Giallorossi but Edin Dzeko cut an isolated figure for the visitors.

“Handanovic was the best player on the pitch,” Garcia went on.

“He saved everything.

“Dzeko still needs to find that burst of pace and he had a great chance to score at one stage.

“He probably should have buried the first chance and it would have changed the complexion of the match.

“We still continued to drive forward even when down to 10 men and we should have grabbed a deserved draw.

“He [Dzeko] did end up quite isolated during the first half though, but we don’t always have to go through him to score.

“There are other options.”

Roma lost out on top spot due to this defeat, but the French coach dispelled any talk of the Scudetto and was also reluctant to discuss the Champions League.

“I am not interested in this,” Garcia added.

“Just to focus on today’s game is my aim.

“As for the cups, do I really have to say if they are important or not?

“We will play them regardless, first on Wednesday then back in the league on Sunday.

“The team played seven games in a row before the international break stopped that.

“There is nothing left to do but prepare well for these matches.”
