Juventus 0-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night in Serie A, the first goalless draw between the two sides since 2010.

Juventus produced the first meaningful attempt on goal when Juan Cuadrado had a shot well saved by Samir Handanovic.

The early chance set the pace of the first-half, with the match hotting up following early yellow cards for both Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira.

Inter would soon have a penalty appeal turned down when a whipped in cross hit the arm of Leonardo Bonucci but the referee waved away the protests.

The Nerazzurri remained on top and were centimetres away from taking the lead had it not been for Gianluigi Buffon, who applied a fingertip save to divert Marcelo Brozovic’s strike onto the crossbar.

Simone Zaza nearly nipped in just before the half-time whistle but was denied by a superb piece of defending from Jeison Murillo.

The Bianconeri started the better of the two sides after the interval, with the Colombian Cuadrado hitting the side-netting from a tight angle.

It would be Stevan Jovetic who would have the best chance prior to the hour mark, spanking a dipping shot which was well stopped by Buffon.

With just 20 minutes remaining, Khedira ended up just a fraction off target, placing a shot from only six yards out against the foot of the post.

Two poor late free-kicks from both Jovetic and Ivan Perisic saw the match finish peter out to a scoreless draw.

The final result left Inter just a point behind leaders Fiorentina in the race for the Scudetto.
