Inter defender Nemanja Vidic has returned to training with the side two months after undergoing surgery to his hernia.

The 34-year-old picked up the injury in August and was predicted to be sidelined for around six months, meaning he wouldn’t make his return until 2016.

According to Interchannel, though, he trained with the squad for the first half of their most recent session.

It was split up into two groups: one of the players who played in their 1-0 victory over Bologna on Tuesday and another with the players who didn’t take part.

Vidic reportedly warmed up with the second group for the first half of their session.

It is still expected that fans of the Nerazzurri will have to wait until next year for his return to the field, though.

They currently sit in fourth place in the Serie A league table with their next game being a tough test against top-of-the-table rivals Roma on Saturday night.
