Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin says he is thrilled to make a return for Colombia ahead of their World Cup qualifying match against Peru on Thursday.
The 29-year-old has not featured for his country since a 3-1 win against Kuwait in March, but is in the squad for Thursday’s match as the South American qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia get underway.
“I’m happy to come back, I have a great desire to be here,” said Guarin in comments reported by FC Inter News.
“I arrive with a lot of motivation for these qualifiers and from my point of view it is very important to return to the national team.
“Inter? We’re at the top end of the table and it’s an important thing for us.
“What Mancini gives to me and what I give the team is very important for my career.”
