El Shaarawy - ItalyMonaco striker Stephan El Shaarawy has claimed Italy‘s game against Azerbaijan is huge.

Italy will qualify for Euro 2016 in France with a win against Azerbaijan but El Shaarawy is not taking things for granted.

“It is a huge game because we qualify for the European Championships with a win,” El Shaarawy told reporters at his pre match press conference ahead of the Azerbaijan game.

“It is impossible for us to underestimate the importance of the match.

“We are training well and we will have to enter the field with the maximum concentration in order to beat a good team.”

El Shaarawy then had his say on playing in France with Monaco and the recent injury to Lorenzo Insigne, with the Napoli forward out of the Azerbaijan and Norway matches.

“When I started at Monaco I had some difficulties,” El Shaarawy added

“But now I’m playing with continuity.

“I feel very confident playing for both my club and with my country.

“I am happy with [Antonio] Conte as my national coach and my last performance for Italy.

“It is a shame that Insigne has had to leave the group due to injury.”
