Martin Montoya InterPremier League side Liverpool have reportedly stopped their efforts to sign Inter defender Martin Montoya.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at the Nerazzurri from Spanish giants Barcelona but hasn’t been given a lot of game time, meaning a move away is possible.

According to The Mirror, though, newly appointed Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is not interested in bringing the Spaniard to Anfield, despite there being interest from them previously during Brendan Rodgers’ tenure.

Barcelona were considering stopping the loan in January but it’s reported that Montoya will remain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for the entirety of his loan spell, which is two seasons long depending on how many times he plays for the Italians.

However, he is yet to appear in any competition under Roberto Mancini since joining them this summer.
