Icardi Inter v EmpoliInter coach Roberto Mancini has put his faith in striker Mauro Icardi.

The Nerazzurri travel to Bologna on Tuesday night after their 1-1 draw away to Bologna on Saturday night, and the coach believes they can pick up three points from the game.

“At Palermo we should have managed situations better,” Mancini told the press in a pre-match conference.

“In the second half the team played well, even with 1o men they continued to play well and that’s a good thing.

“Of course, with a bit of extra attention, we could have brought home the three points.

“If we play like we did in the second half in Palermo, then we have a good chance of winning.”

The 50-year-old then moved on to Inter’s attacker Mauro Icardi, who has only scored twice in the league so far this season, but he has no worries that he will recapture form, comparing him to former Lazio striker Hernan Crespo.

“I would have preferred him to score from that start, but knowing the history of strikers this can happen,” Mancini said.

“Crespo at Lazio managed to score 21 goals from January onwards alone.

“[Icardi] will get back to scoring important goals.”
