Legia Warsaw defender Rafal Makowski says his side may be underdogs in Thursday’s Europa League clash with Napoli, but they are capable of taking all three points from the fixture.
The two clubs face each other in the Polish capital tomorrow and Makowski says the Poles can take inspiration from Belorussian side BATE Borisov’s Champions League win over Roma in their bid to defeat the Partenopei.
“We must not exaggerate, Napoli are strong, but without wishing to overstate it, they’re hardly Real Madrid,” said the defender in a press conference ahead of the game.
“We may be able to surprise them and defeat them, just as BATE Borisov did in their Champions League match against Roma.
“Before the match no one would have considered them [BATE Borisov] as favourites.”
