Napoli‘s Lorenzo Insigne will have his knee examined by the Partenopei’s medical staff on Thursday, following his withdrawal from the Italy camp on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old was unable to train after having joined up with the Azzurri for their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Norway.

As reported by ANSA, Insigne has returned to the club and will undergo examinations on his knee on Thursday.

Examinations will take place as a precautionary measure, with it being the same knee in which the Neapolitan ruptured ligaments last season.

The Italian international has been in unstoppable form in Serie A so far this season, scoring five goals and assisting a further three in his seven appearances to date, and his absence will be felt by Azzurri boss Antonio Conte.
