scontri-tifosiSix supporters were arrested following disturbances during the Lega Pro fixture between Casertana and Catania.

Casertana won the fixture 2-0 at home on October 18 versus the side that were demoted to the third division for match-fixing in the 2014-15 Serie B season.

Italian news agency ANSA report that one police officer fired a warning shot in order to disperse a group of Catania fans who were ready to fight opposing supporters.

Six Casertana fans were also accused of carrying iron bars with the intention of using them as weapons.

Catania fans also reportedly attacked parked cars outside the stadium.

The unrest began outside the Stadio Alberto Pinto shortly after kick-off as a group of away fans broke away from the police escort that had been following them since they left the motorway.

Despite the disorder, widespread trouble was narrowly avoided and there were no serious injuries.
