Juventus will still provide the Rossoneri tough opposition in their match at the Juventus stadium on Saturday, despite the Bianconeri being weakened due to losing world class players.

The Diavolo make the trip to Turin with a two point cushion over the Old Lady, however Milan still remain seven points adrift of league leaders Fiorentina.

Before speaking about the match, Bonaventura expressed his deepest condolences for  those affected by the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

“What happened [in Paris] was a shock to everyone, but football can be a tool to look ahead,” said the AC Milan midfielder.

“In the face of certain facts it’s almost a sense of helplessness, and to overcome moments like these you just have to stick together. Then, it’s up to us to offer a great show to dispel all fears and concerns after this terrible week.”

He then went on to share his pre-match thoughts for the vital clash at the Juventus stadium.

“It is not a challenge to be in or out because there are still many days until the end of the championship, but Milan cannot and must not make mistakes in certain games,” added Bonaventura.

“We want to win because it would give an important signal to the entire championship. They [Juventus] have changed so much, they have lost world-class players but on paper they still have great players. We have reinforced and this has created a little more balance.”

Bonaventura also praised coach Sinisa Mihajlovic for his work in progressing the Rossoneri since last season.

“Earlier this year we entered the field insecure. I think the coach has been good at fixing this problem, and I think now we have broken free from the past,” added the midfielder.

“Mihajlovic needs time, meanwhile, we have created the conditions for returning to the top: this season can be useful to make everyone understand that next year, with some more investment, I think we can already get back to winning.”

Finally, he spoke about his ambition to become a regular starter in Antonio Conte’s Azzurri side.

“My goal is to become an important player for the national team,” said the midfielder.

“For this, besides having a great season, I’ll try to get there in the end in top condition.”
