Chievo coach Rolando Maran has provided a vote of confidence for Palermo compatriot Giuseppe Iachini ahead of Sunday’s fixture at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Maran leads the Gialloblu into the match in 13th position, just two points ahead of Palermo who have endured a troublesome week off the pitch following a poor run of form.
“It’s a team that, beyond the results, is doing fine,” Maran said of the Rosanero at Friday’s press conference.
“It is not for me to judge his work however, [Iachini is] a very good technician and has been in the top league for several seasons.”
Speaking about his Chievo squad, Maran was optimistic about the short-term future.
“I think in the course of a season, a team’s value comes out.
“At the moment we are getting perhaps less than we deserve, but if we continue our current work and performances, I am sure we will produce the victories and the league position we deserve.”
Despite a strong start to the season, Chievo will be looking for their first victory since their match day 5 win over Torino.
