Fiorentina EmpoliEmpoli coach Marco Giampaolo happy despite losing two goal lead in draw with Tuscan rivals Fiorentina.

The Tuscan derby finished 2-2 after a brace from Nikola Kalinic in the second half cancelled out the first half goals from Marko Livaja and Marcel Buchel.

“Fiorentina are a team that plays with the ball at their feet, they’re exhausting to play against,” Giampaolo told Sky Sport Italia.

“We couldn’t stop them for the entire match, it got worse for us when they made substitutions.

“We suffered but I’m content.”

The result moves the Azzurri onto 15 points in Serie A level with both Udinese and Palermo near the bottom of the table.

“I have no illusions, we have to live for each day, I’m fortunate to have the players at my disposal,” Giampaolo added.

“Sometimes we risk a great deal with our playing style, but we also show courage and try our best.”
