Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi admitted Barcelona were too good for the Giallorossi following Tuesday evening’s 6-1 defeat at the Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old believed the Serie A club could gain a positive result at the home of the European Champions before the game, but had no complaints with the result after the clash.

“We did not set up correctly during the game,” Florenzi told reporters following the defeat.

“We conceded goals but we must be positive, at other times in the last group match we have already been out of the competition. If we beat BATE we can progress to the next round.

“The squad were hoping to gain a positive result, we knew it was going to be the same in the standings if we drew or lost. I did not expect to concede six goals but Barcelona were too good for us.”
