inIcardi Inter v EmpoliInter beat Frosinone 4-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table.

The Nerazzurri took the lead through Jonathan Biabiany in the 27th minute as the home side dominated the first-half. Seven minutes into the second-half Mauro Icardi doubled Inter’s lead, before Jeison Murillo and Marcelo Brozovic sealed the victory with two late goals.

Inter started the match in control but were looking vulnerable on the counter-attack. And so it proved, in the 7th minute when a looping high cross was sent into the box until it reached Danilo Soddimo, who’s stunning volley drew an equally excellent flying save.

However, the Nerazzurri were still dominating and Stevan Jovetic was looking dangerous and his shot from just outside the box forced Nicola Leali to make a smart save lowdown.

Eventually Inter’s dominance was too much for the away side, as Roberto Mancini’s men took the lead. Adem Ljajic’s rasping shot was saved well by Leali but the rebound fell to Biabiany, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

The Canarini regrouped and managed to halt the Biscione’s dominance, as the score was unchanged until half-time.

Immediately after the interval Biabiany went on a stunning run as he carried the ball the length of the pitch, beat two Frosinone defenders before playing a one-two with Icardi in the box, but he lacked the composure to finish of his brilliant work.

Inter then doubled their lead in the 52nd minute. Ljajic played a one two with Icardi and the Serbian slid the ball across the box for the Argentinian to tap in.

Biabiany almost piled on more misery after he received a clever back heel pass from Icardi but his shot was cleared off the line.

Jesion Murillo of all people added a late third as he broke forward played a one-two, and then slid the ball past Leali.

In stoppage time Inter broke forward once again. Adem Ljajic played in the onrushing Marcelo Brozovic who powered home.

The result leaves Inter top of the league by two points, and Frosinone still in the relegation zone.
