Inter are reportedly keen on signing former Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar, as coach Roberto Mancini looks to bolster his defensive ranks.
The Dutchman is currently a free agent having left the Premier League side in the summer and is now training with his boyhood club AZ Alkmaar as he looks to maintain his fitness levels.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milanese giants will face stiff competition from Serie A rivals Lazio, who are also keen on signing the ex-Villa man, as they to look to replace the injured Stefan De Vrij.
The 30-year-old’s experience and also his status as a free agent has made him a hot prospect for the two Italian clubs.
Vlaar notched up a total of 79 appearances and netted two goals during his time at Villa Park.
