Inter are preparing to move ahead of Chelsea and Roma as a race develops to sign Serbian youngster Marko Grujic.

The 19-year-old is already one of the key players of Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade despite his young age, and after being described as the player who drives the team forward by his coach, some of Europe’s biggest names are watching intently.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter are ready to present an offer to the player’s club in the upcoming January transfer window, rivalling both Chelsea and Roma who have also shown strong interest.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio is ready to sanction a €4.5 million swoop to allow coach Roberto Mancini to have his man.

However, due to restrictions on players from outside of the European Union in Italy, Inter would have to loan the player out if they are unable to offload deadwood in the same window.

Grujic was part of the Serbia squad which won the 2015 World Under-20 Championship in New Zealand.
