italy under 21Italy U-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio was content with his side’s 1-1 draw against Serbia but realizes there is still much room for improvement.

The draw keeps the two sides level on points at the top of Group 2 in the 2017 European Championship qualification phase.

“I am satisfied with my boys, it was a good point,” Di Biagio told reporters after the match.

“We created a lot of chances, especially in the first half-hour where we were perfect.

“I cannot fault the boys for not winning, Serbia are a very good team.

“Nevertheless, we came here to win and did not succeed so we know that we need to improve in all areas of the pitch.”

Torino owned Antonio Barreca earned his first start with the U-21 squad and Di Biagio believed the youngster had a solid debut.

“It was Barreca’s first match with us and from the first minute his performance was very positive,” Di Biagio added.

The Azzurrini’s next match will be another qualifier against Lithuania on Tuesday evening at the Stadio Teofilo Patini in Abruzzo.
