Higuain Napoli FiorentinaChelsea are hoping to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain as a potential replacement for Diego Costa up front.

Costa has scored just two goals in the Premier League so far this campaign, contributing to Chelsea’s terrible start to the season.

According to the Daily Mirror, given Costa’s current form the Blues are desperate to find a new striker in the next transfer window and have targeted Napoli star striker Higuain.

The Argentinian international has scored nine goals in 12 games so far in Serie A, contributing to Napoli’s fantastic start, that sees the Partenopei fourth in Serie A, only two points away from leaders Fiorentina and Inter.

Jose Mourinho reportedly rates the Argentinian striker, whom he coached at Real Madrid, highly.

Realistically, however, Higuain will not be available before the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have been interested in the Napoli forward in the past and hope to tempt Maurizio Sarri’s side to sell their star for a big sum.
