Serie A giants Lazio are reportedly set to rival Everton for the capture of free agent Ron Vlaar.
Vlaar is currently injured after undergoing a second knee surgery that kept him out for as long as eight months. A free agent who last played for Aston Villa before playing out his contract at the Birmingham based club, 30-year-old Vlaar played a stellar role in Netherlands’ third placed finish in the 2014 World Cup.
As per Il Messaggero, Ron Vlaar tops the Lazio list of wanted centre-backs, who continue the pursuit of a new defender.
Although, Everton are said to be interested in him too and are leading the race to sign him.
It’s been reported that the likes of Sunderland and Norwich are also interested in acquiring his services.
Vlaar’s experience of playing at the top most level of international football will certainly come in handy for any team.
